Yes, Life Happens

Hey folks, you may have heard of a little storm called Irene. Well, it gave us a double whammy since we own a home in NY and NC.

Fortunately, as far as NY is concerned, everything is fine, We sustained damage to our community owned beach when 2 large sailboats broke loose and crashed into the beach, but it is not so major.

NC is another story. Heading down there to see the damage which our realtor says is pretty bad and start the clean up and recovery, meet with the insurance adjuster, blah, blah, blah.
All of which is to say that I will be out of the loop for quite  a while. There is no power, no land line phone, no potable water, no gas and no food available in that local area right now. Which means we are packing for roughing it.

So, please don't give up on me, I will be posting again when I return. Just don't know when that will be.

Sill Sitters

These little blown glass fish net floats sit on the sill of a window in North Carolina that looks out over the marsh grasses and woods across the creek. They look to me as if they are having a conversation. "What are we doing in here when we should be out there in the water?"

Red White & Blue Bounty

SOLD
It's been too long since my last post here and I apologize for that. I thank all of you who've been following this blog and hope you continue to do so as I get back up to speed here. Life happens, you know?

I wish I could tell you that this painting came about as a result of harvesting these beauties from my own garden, but alas, no. I harvested them from my local market for my salad and when I spied the sand pail on top of my kitchen cabinets, I saw a colorful opportunity and this is the happy result.
