Sophie, the stray that adopted us last spring, has more toys than I do. She absolutely goes bonkers over her meeses. She eventually reduces them to shreds and I have to buy her new ones. Here are a few on top of an old Seven-Up crate I got at a neighbor's yard sale.

Toast to the Ocean
SOLD
This glass reminds me of the radiating rings of water when you drop a pebble into it. It's such a pretty, delicate shade of bluish green. I just love it. I think I will have to do more with it.

Sunflower Hat Trick
SOLD
Monet, Van Gogh and me. It was great experience to try to interpret their oil paintings (as reproduced in books) in watercolor. The photo here loses the subtleties of the whites in the book pages and also washes out the lower petals of the sunflower, but it was the best I could do. I may try with a different scanner to see if I can get better results.

Clementine with Wesselmann
My friend Mary gave me Taschen's book on Pop Art for Christmas and as you can see, I'm having a bit of fun with it.

Sign Language I
Road signs are yellow and black for a reason. Studies have shown that its the most visible, attention getting color combination. Now, while I can't say that I love the proliferation of road signs ("Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. Blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind."), they do command my attention especially when they are graphic in nature juxtaposed against the soft landscape. This one seemed particularly strange.

Caught Up in Memories
SOLD
I don't think this needs a lot of explanation. Suffice it to say that I was enjoying the well used and worn nature of the glove and baseball.

The Rolleiflex
SOLD
No clever name for this, it's just a cool looking old camera. It belonged to my father-in-law. The leather, red flock lined case and the intricate camera face and lens system have a fascination for me. It is handsome just as an object and has a steam punk quality to it.
